At 16 years old, Slinky, a devoted Labrador, has reached the stage of life where so many senior dogs and their humans start to notice joint stiffness creeping in. Labradors carry a lifetime of running, swimming and play in their joints, and for his owner, Lisa Fitzgerald, watching him slow down was hard to see in a dog who had always been full of energy.

A Natural Path to Joint Comfort and Mobility

Lisa was first introduced to CanineCeuticals in March 2024, after her friend Chris recommended P.E.A. Plus while she was exploring options to support Slinky's joints. Rather than compromise on Slinky's day to day comfort, Lisa wanted a natural way to support his mobility long term, something she could keep him on well into his senior years without worrying about the toll it might take elsewhere.

Two and a half years on, Slinky is still taking P.E.A. Plus daily, and more recently Lisa has added Gut Protect to his routine to support his gut and immune health alongside his joints.

"Slinky has more energy and could run again, and while walking, I find it hard to catch up to him sometimes." — Lisa Fitzgerald

A Targeted Approach to Joint Health with P.E.A. Plus and Gut Protect

Together, these two products support Slinky from more than one angle, addressing joint comfort while maintaining the gut and immune foundations that underpin overall vitality in senior dogs:

  • P.E.A. Plus provides Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), a naturally occurring fatty acid amide studied for its role in the body's inflammatory response pathways and supporting healthy joint mobility.
  • Gut Protect offers a synergistic blend of prebiotics, probiotics, herbs and enzymes to support healthy digestion, nutrient absorption and immune resilience, helping a senior dog like Slinky get the most from his daily routine.

From Stiffness to a Second Chance at Life

For Lisa, the change in Slinky hasn't just been physical. At 16, he's rediscovering a playfulness she hadn't seen in years, running, keeping pace on walks, and generally acting like a dog half his age.

"It's given Slinky a second chance with life. Sometimes he acts like a young puppy and he has his mojo back." — Lisa Fitzgerald

Watching a senior dog find his spark again is one of the most rewarding parts of supporting joint health naturally, and Slinky's story is proof that it's never too late to make a difference.
