Beef spleen is an exceptionally rich source of highly bioavailable iron, containing five times as much total iron and nearly 30 times as much heme iron, as compared to beef liver.(2) Iron is vital for a number of key bodily functions, such as helping to provide oxygen to organs and muscles, and for certain enzymes in the body to function normally.

Beef spleen is a rich source of selenium. Selenium is a potent antioxidant which is essential for the correct function of metabolism. In a dog’s body, it is important for its role in thyroid metabolism, synthesis of DNA and reproduction.(3) Its antioxidant properties can help to prevent oxidative damage that can cause premature aging, cancer and inflammatory diseases.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE & STORAGE
As a general guide for the replacement of fresh spleen or as a healthy meal topper add ½ tsp per 100 g of lean meat fed, or as recommended by your animal healthcare professional.
1 tsp of freeze-dried spleen is equal to approximately 10 grams of raw spleen.
CAT DOSING
Organic Beef Spleen is also suitable for cats.
