FEATURES

Best described as ‘nature’s calcium’, Replace-A-Bone is sourced from 100% grass-fed an finished beef bones and contains the ideal physiological ratio of calcium and phosphorus in a microcrystalline structure that enhances absorption and bioavailability. Unlike synthetic calcium supplements, Replace-A-Bone also contains naturally occurring compounds that nourish and support the whole skeletal system for strength, flexibility, and remineralisation of bones.

✔ Targeted bone support
✔ Whole food source
✔ Superior bioavailability
✔ Suitable for puppies
✔ Sourced from ethically raised beef

Proudly Australian owned and made using 100% human-grade ingredients.
No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Description
  • Meat is rich in phosphorus but contains very little calcium, so an all-meat diet will be deficient in calcium, making it critically important to add calcium back in.
  • Replace-A-Bone is suitable for all life stages.
  • Replace-A-Bone is made from whole bone, which contains the ideal physiological ratio of calcium and phosphorus in a microcrystalline (MCHA) structure that enhances absorption and bioavailability.
  • MCHA from whole bone is considered to be more effective than standard calcium supplements in maintaining bone mass in human populations. In addition, it is suggested that MCHA accelerates fracture consolidation in patients with osteopenia or osteoporosis and is significantly more effective in preventing bone loss than calcium carbonate.

The importance of feeding lean meats

Fat is relatively devoid of vitamins and minerals and contains a lot of calories. If your dog’s diet contains more than 20% fat, it will result in less vitamins, minerals and protein being present in the food, which will make the resulting diet nutritionally incomplete. This is especially important for puppies, pregnant and senior dogs, who need more nutrients than the average adult dog.

But we don’t want too little fat either! If the total fat content of the diet dips too much below 10%, you may start to see dry, itchy skin in your dog. This is one of the first signs of fat deficiency. So try to stay within the 10% to 20% fat range most days for adult dogs and around 10% fat content for puppies. This will ensure that your dog is getting everything they need nutritionally.

Storage

Store below 30 C in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed.
Keep out of reach of children.

CAUTIONS

You do not need to use Replace-A-Bone if:

You are already feeding a ‘complete and balanced’ commercial food that contains calcium. Providing additional calcium in these instances could be detrimental to health.

You use a supplement or base-mix that is designed to make a home-made diet complete and balanced i.e. Balance IT.

You are feeding whole raw bones that can be completely consumed on a regular basis (i.e. daily or every second day).

Thank you for a fantastic product!

Replace-A-Bone combined with Organic Organ Blend and freshly chunked meat and heart is the closest thing to a balanced BARF diet I can get my extremely fussy "biscuit addict" little FELINE to eat. I have been trying for three years to get her to eat small raw bones and organ meat, without any success. Thank you Canine Ceuticals for fantastic, nutritious, clean and convenient products.

Replace A Bone is a good calcium supplement for dogs

Good calcium supplement for dogs.
I noticed that the bones we were giving our dog were giving her wind.
Sometimes she would throw up afterwards.
I worked out that it was because they had been in bleach.
I needed a calcium supplement which was bone based and not vegetable based.
Dogs can’t digest fruit and vegetables very well, they do better on meat and bone.
Ours was particularly sensitive.
Replace A Bone does this job very well.
We also give her psyllium which keeps everything moving.
We just give her 1 tsp of Replace A Bone a day.
No more wind.
Here is my 16 year old dog with the usual worried expression on her face. ‘Mummy why are you taking photos of me? I don’t like it.’ I am showing the nice people how this product has made you well. 😂

Transitioning to a Fresh food diet

The CanineCeuticals products, the information on their website and podcast, as well as the thoughtful and knowledgeable responses to my questions has been such a huge help in transitioning my 10 year old dog, Ollie, to a fresh food diet after a lifetime on kibble. We were feeding chicken necks and kangaroo ribs to Ollie, but it was causing constipation and large pieces of bone were passing through without being digested. Switching to Replace-a-Bone allowed us to gradually build up the bone component of Ollie’s fresh food diet and also enabled the bone to be better digested and the nutrients absorbed.
